How to Stop Being A Victim

Since I wrote an earlier article about dealing with narcissists, I thought I could expand further in this article by sharing some of my thoughts with you about an equally important piece of that puzzle: not being a victim. How are they related, you ask? Well, let us just say that you may not even know what a narcissist is (nor care) if you feel strong and empowered and do not take abuse from anyone. You see, people that see themselves as “victims” of other people's behaviours are at higher risk for being treated badly than those who do not see themselves that way. It may sound simple in theory, but it very challenging to change if you grew up with abuse. Perhaps an example would help: A client of mine came to see me and spent almost the full hour describing her father's treatment of her. She listed all of the horrible things he says and does to her and it quickly became clear that he was of the “narcissist-variety” of humans. He put her down in front of others, called her names, expected her full and undivided attention and when he did not get it, he abused her verbally&and so on. When I asked her to come up with some ideas of how she could not be at the receiving end of this intolerable behaviour, she just sat there looking at me blankly. I then gently spoke to her about how much choice she had about what she experienced with her father and she answered, I do not have any. He is my father. I felt very sad for her in that moment and yet I could totally relate. If we grow up in a family where people treat us badly (especially one or more of our parents), we learn on some level, that we deserve such treatment. This woman had resigned herself to a life filled with people treating her like dirt and felt that there was nothing she could do to change it. But the good news is that she was seeing me (I believe) because on another level, she knew that this wasn't acceptable and wanted to learn tools to protect herself from her abusive father and others like him. She also knew deep down, that she deserved better. When I worded it this way, she agreed with me and we were able to start brainstorming ideas for how to protect herself in future from abuse, as well as how to attract kinder, gentler people who made her feel good about herself into her life.

How To Lose Belly Fat With A 10 Minute Workout

If so, try this high energized cardiovascular fitness routine that that was developed by Keli Roberts. With this 10 minute exercise routine you can burn up to 150 calories every single day. The first two minutes of this fat burning routine is: Jump Rope - Begin by performing two jumps for each turn of the rope. Safety: Use the correct size jump rope and always land softly on the balls of your feet (that is the upper part of the bottom of your foot). Keep thinking I am losing weight. Minutes two to three: Squat Thrust into a Push Up. The proper technique for this exercise is to stand with your feet shoulder width apart and your arms strait down next to your sides. Slowly squat down with your head forward and bring your hands to the floor just outside of your feet. Your hands should be pointing forward as well. Then in one movement, push your legs back and out behind you (into a pushup position). Perform one strict pushup and then jump back into your squat position and then stand back up. Keep thinking, the fat is vanishing. Minutes three to four: Jump Rope with only one jump per turn. Keep thinking, The fat is melting away. Minutes four to five: Back to the Squat Thrust and Push Up only this time you are going to add the Side Plank. After completing your squat thrust and push up, you are going to lift and rotate your left arm off of the ground and over your head. Your left foot will rotate and rest on top of you right foot. And you will rotate your neck so you are looking up at your ceiling.

  • Baked Apples

    This is my favorite cool weather treat:)

    6 Large Rome apples, peeled and cored
    6 tbs unsalted (sweet) butter, softened
    1/2 cup lemon juice
    1 tsp grated organic lemon rind
    1/2 tsp white stevia powder
    1 tsp ground ginger
    1/2 tsp ground cloves
    1/4 tsp ground cardamom
    1/4 cup currants
    1/4 cup coursely shopped almonds or pecans

    1) Preheat the oven to 350 F.

    2) Using a sharp knife, remove a 1/4- inch piece from the top of each apple. peel 1/4- inch of skin from the top, and core each apple to within 1/2 inch of the bottom. Set aside.

    3) Cream the butter with the lemon juice and lemon rind, then add the remaining ingredients. Spoon even amounts of this mixture into the cored apples.

    4) Place the filled apples in a shallow baking pan, add a little water to cover the bottom, and bake about 2 hours, or until tender. Serve hot, warm, or chilled.

    Why Can't Relatioinships Be Straightforward?


    I'm into this guy who I've only known for about a month. I don't know what's going on with him most of the time. He gives all indications that he's into me too, including asking me out, and then suddenly I don't hear from him for a couple of days. I don't know if he just doesn't call when nothing's happening, or if he has decided I'm not all that. I obsess over what might be happening. Finally I did hear from him today and he said he had been sick so he didn't call, but everything is fine. Then he said he'd call me tonight but didn't. Why do people do these things?     Animals need TLC. When you see a animal in a shelter that is sick with upper respitory sickness. Don't let it slip by. It is illegal for them to sell animals that are sick. Report it to Animal Inspections. They could be shut down.
