I recently met a person selling a body cleanser that purportedly will remove all impurities from your body, and probably cure cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc. At more than per bottle, it had better withstand Kryptonite! As a Nutrition Therapist, I see first hand how people go for the miracle cure, when the solution to many health problems can be addressed with simplicity. You just need the knowledge to make informed decisions, and I am here to help. So, get out your blender and lets put together a Super Nutritional Tonic Elixir.

Here's how:

Start with rich, yellow colored foods, like corn (I hear they contain substances that may protect vision). Add orange colored foods like carrots, sweet potatoes, and cantaloupe. (Rich in alpha and beta-carotene, they may help prevent some cancers). Fold in tomatoes paste, sauce, and ketchup. (I overheard someone say that studies have shown they contain substances that can ward off prostate cancer). Sprinkle in leafy kale, spinach, and collard greens. (You see, there is a chemical that can help preserve your eyesight in these). Drop in deep colored blueberries, plumbs, and cherries. (Get a grip! The stuff in them may help relieve arthritis and protect your brain cells).

Blend for 15 seconds

Depending on how much of a health nut you are, add these essential items:

Add several servings of fiber containing whole grains, psyllium seed husk, wheat bran, and oat bran. (They will help keep you regular, clean out your blood, digestive track, and heart). Spoon in chopped walnuts and flax seeds (They protect the heart again). Don't forget to drop some fatty fish like salmon, tuna, and other fishes. (All these can cut down on saturated fat, and help keep you mentally sharp as well as your help with vision). Don't forget to add diced cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale and horseradish. (Which may enhance detoxification of undesirable compounds and bolster antioxidant defenses of your cells). Now, add a cup of good bacteria containing yogurt. (Boost your immunity while you are at it!).
Cube in soy based foods (25 grams per day can help reduce cholesterol levels). Spice this mix with some fresh garlic, leeks and scallions. (Again,
you said you wanted to detoxify!).

Run blender until smooth.

You actually wouldn't want to throw all that stuff into a blender. Put it in your mouth! Eat a variety of foods in this tonic, along with regular, daily exercise, plenty of water, and you will be well on your way to not only reducing your risk of chronic disease, but also dawning that big red cape and flying up, up and away!
