Autism Symptoms of Autism
There are so many different things that a parent worries about when having a baby. You worry about them sleeping and if they are eating enough. One thing that a lot of us never think of is what if they are autistic. The thought doesn’t cross parent’s minds until they realize their baby has fallen behind and they have mannerisms other babies do not.
There are signs and symptoms that you can look for to help you decide whether you should be concerned or not. Depending on the severity of Autism Aspergers will dictate what type of symptoms the child will have. Some children may appear to be developing normally until the age of two and then there will be a dramatic decrease in development.
Some of the symptoms that you may notice in infants are that they may not want to snuggle. They may also be content and even appear happier to be left alone to play. They may also react as if they are in pain when they hear certain every day ordinary noises such as a car passing by. They may also act as if they are in pain when you touch them a certain way. On the other hand another sign you may need help with autism is if they hear a loud noise and act as if they never heard it. They may even respond as if they are deaf even though their hearing is perfectly normal. Their motor skills may be very unsteady and they may also like to play alone as well as to not make eye contact with others. They will also not point out things of interest like other infants and toddlers do. They may also be very sensitive to bright lights to the point where they go into uncontrollable crying.
If your child is portraying any of these symptoms, you may want to watch if more appear that you have not recognized before. You will also want to make sure to take them to the doctor to get help with Aspergers. Autism can be very frustrating for not only the parent but also for the child. The sooner your child is diagnosed the sooner you will be able to start working on new communication skills along with other techniques that will help your child feel more in control of their lives. Most children with autism are diagnosed by the age of 3.
The child may also like some odd routines, even if this means that when they are throwing a tantrum they hurt themselves by scratching themselves or even banging their heads against things. Because of this you need to find ways for them to release their frustration. This is another reason to do your research and to find out what really is going on with your child. First you must become aware of the symptoms of autism.
