The Challenges of our times makes us Better Persons
Posted On 11/10/2008 20:39:56 by Bodhi

Indeed the challenges of our times can really make us better persons. The new world is preparing us to become part of it by making us better persons. When truth is being twisted, our times call for us to be more courageous rather than considerate. When justice is at stake there are so many people who are suffering from hunger or loneliness or both, we are not only called upon to comfort the ones who are hurt but also to hurt to comfortable to drive them away from their ivory towers and begin to make the world a better place. Now we are not only called upon to embrace the world in all its frailties but also to condemn the world in all its darkness and oppression. The wars of our times compel us not only to seek peace but promote justice. Now is the time when we must remain calm but not silent; sweet but ruthless in pursuing a better world. Now is the time to maintain an overall attitude of goodness combined with resoluteness; of endless flexibility but unwavering principle; of unconquerable thirst for justice; of undying passion and love for humanity.

I totally agree Bodhi :) Our today is unlike anything that we've seen before in a yesterday.

Our USA is a very good example of the rapid changes going on. After our elections last week, a hot-bed of emotional and spiritual issues has risen to center-front status in the minds of many, many people. While most don't quite understand what they are doing, they are doing it all the same.

Social equalities, and religious convictions are busy fighting for their places in the sunshine in a true spiritual nature. The overall issues that people are speaking about are important to them, but the idea that "everybody" is beginning to define their spirituality - as if being tugged by some invisible hand, is what is exciting to me.

"...The wars of our times compel us not only to seek peace but promote justice. Now is the time when we must remain calm but not silent; sweet but ruthless in pursuing a better world..."

This is happening here on a very wide-spread basis. From both sides; those who hold opposite opinions all at once. The definitions of peace, justice, and better world are different depending upon what our backgrounds are.

Smiles! And I probably didn't say this right, it's a hard thought to put into writing. But, we are living in very exciting times. Spirituality is awake now - it wasn't a week ago. As people start to explore this new side to their beings, very good things can happen.

Happy Thoughts! Catherine
