A fat rich man is oxymoron – Paul Zane Pilzer
For centuries, rounded belly was considered as a sign of prosperity. In 1996, Paul Zane Pilzer * started to analyze the relations between health and economical situation of people in US and found out significant discovery of his own. In the early stages P. Z. Pilzer realized, that people with above average income were predominantly in very good physical and mental shape. In addition, just contrarily, people from low-income bracket were affected especially by obesity. P. Z. Pilzer condensed his first observations in conclusion: “A fat rich man is oxymoron”. However, is WELLNESS privilege of high-income earners?
In 2001 P. Z. Pilzer published 'The Next Trillion', where he explained why consumers will turn away from consuming more material goods and instead seek to achieve internal self-improvement - healthier foods, vitamins, nutritional supplements and fitness programs - and why consumers will create a virtually limitless and sustained demand for wellness-based products. P. Z. Pilzer also predicted that the greatest entrepreneurial opportunities would ill be in distributing rather than in manufacturing wellness products and services.
In 2002 P. Z. Pilzer in his book 'The Wellness Revolution' predicted: “The next trillion-dollar industry - that of the twenty-first century - has arrived, and it promises to similarly revolutionize our lives and offer entrepreneurs and investors the opportunity to amass great fortunes. This next big thing is the wellness industry. In the next ten years, an additional $1 trillion of the U.S. economy will be devoted to provide healthy people with products to maintain their health” (video clip)
In 'The Next Millionaires', published in 2006, P. Z. Pilzer foresaw (listen to audio), that ten million new millionaires will be created between 2006 and 2016. The Next Millionaires throw light on how anybody can be one of them, especially if they are in direct selling, product distribution, home-based business, Internet business, or an emerging trillion-dollar industry like wellness. The book explains how the old models of opportunity in physical distribution have given way to new opportunities in intellectual distribution. P. Z. Pilzer defined Intellectual distribution as teaching people about products or services, which people did not even know that the products or services exist or people did not know that the products or services are affordable.
Last year Paul Zane Pilzer published 'The New Wellness Revolution', revised for 2007 and expanded with 50% new material. In 2002, The Wellness Revolution defined the wellness industry, just emerging as $200 billion industry. In 2007, the wellness industry has grown to $500 billion and it was still just beginning, offering even greater entrepreneurial opportunities. The need for wellness has expanded due to declining health trends, particularly the rising obesity rate in the U.S. and other developed nations. Medical costs exceeded profits for most large employers, and corporations started to recognize that wellness and disease prevention have been the only viable solutions to rising healthcare costs that threaten their very existence. The New Wellness Revolution emphasized that there is still time to get in on the ground floor and make your fortune in wellness.
In summary, P. Z. Pilzer said: “The Wellness Industry, Intellectual Distribution, Home-Based Business and Internet are the segments of a New Economy where the greatest fortunes will be made in the next decades”.
Nevertheless, what is the current reality? Statistics say that average US family spends about $200.00 per month on wellness. My husband and I, just two of us, spend about $400.00 per month on whole food formula consumables only. Not to speak about rest & relaxation, environment and fitness. So, is WELLNESS really privilege of high-income earners?
Let us go back to P. Z. Pilzer. What about those next 10.000.000 Millionaires and millions of others, who will financially benefit from Wellness Revolution? As P. Z. Pilzer predicted, the Wellness Revolution will bring masses to wellness but, because the wellness will be the trillion-dollar industry, the Wellness Revolution also offers opportunities to create enough resources for literally everyone who choose to help others to reach their wellness. In other words said, the wellness ‘affordability’ is just matter of awareness about existing opportunities, which will provide needed resources.
Because you are reading these lines, I expect that you are at least wellness enthusiast and if you can relate to what you read, I would like to invite you to help me to rise up the General public awareness. We are in Wellness Revolution and wellness is not privilege of high-income earners but it is desirable and affordable to all who wish to reach their wellness.
O Lord! May all being be happy, May all be healthy, May people have the well-being off all in mind, May nobody suffer in any way. (Vedic Prayer)
