I'm just curious what everyone thinks of this war anymore?

Personally I thought that it was good in the beginning but now that we know what we do, I think we should bring our troops home.

I've been completely against the war since the beginning.

 

I believe in that, "do unto others clause" and in karma. When the scale tips to one side, it will eventually tip towards the other side just as far before righting itself.

 

With so many belief systems all warning about problems, perhaps during our era, now is not the time to be thinking about wars anywhere on this planet. Now is the time for everybody to send out peaceful thoughts or prayers.

I do think that there are some things that justify war but this is no longer one of those things, in my opinion.

I have been completely for peace from the beginning and I feel that the driving forces for this war were motivated by greed :(

Gandhi definitely has a point and as I look back on the war and now clearly see the evils of President Bush I have to wonder if he had a hidden agenda and was trying to go after the oil.

I agree! Wars are all about hidden agenda's... 

 

Let me give you a little story:

 

Back before the US  became involved with WWII the American public was told that we needed to build huge dams all over the western states so that people could have electricity. Later, the truth came out. We needed the dams built for aluminim production in order to enter the war. People received the benefit of electricity, but that was not the political reason for those dams.  

 

Nope. I don't think it's oil.   

OMG!  I'd never heard that story before.  Now you have me curious as to what you think the hidden agenda behind this war is if it's not oil.

It's not really important what I think. We all have different ideas about what is happening to our planet right now. The important thing is that most people agree that our planet is not happy right now. The war. Global warming. Animal species extinctions. These are all equally unhappy issues.

 

Some people - me included - believe that if prayer or good thoughts will work to help heal bodies, then if all good people on the globe started praying or sending good thoughts towards the bad things... That maybe prayer and good thoughts will help to heal the planet too.  

 

 

I agree with you about the prayers and good thoughts.  It's definitely something that I pray about daily.

I have been against the war since the beginning. And, unfortunately, (regardless of the real underlying excuses and hidden agendas that Catherine mentioned) even those who are pro-war are not clear (or accurate) about our reasons for being there.
