Hi Folks J

Like many, I am watching the drama unfold in New Orleans again as another major hurricane named ‘Gustav’ takes aim at the city. About an hour ago now, News agency Reuters replied to many of us who are wondering about the animals in this major city while it is evacuated again.

Reuters claims that animals are being allowed onto the evacuation busses this time, and will be allowed into some of the temporary shelters along with their owners. The animals are being registered before getting onto the bus, and having a computerized leg-tag added so that if they get separated from their owners, the owner can be found easily.

Another news article that I read indicated that people traveling without animals on the free busses or trains leaving the city were being asked if they had left an animal at home.

With luck, maybe most of the animals got out this time; we can hope. I don’t know about you, but the last thing that I want to hear about this week is another New Orleans animal disaster story like they had in 2005.

Let’s all send some happy thoughts towards the entire evacuee crowds. This can’t be easy on those poor souls being hit twice by Mother Nature like this.

Happy Thoughts to All J Catherine
