Prayer is an effort to communicate with God to make a request, or simply to express one's thoughts and emotions. Prayer is the path way between God and human. Praying has many different forms. Prayer may be done privately and individually, or it may be done corporately in the presence of fellow believer prayer may be unconscious. There may be a time of outward silence while prayers are offered mentally. Often, there are prayers to fit specific occasions, such as the blessing of a meal, the birth or death of a loved one, other significant events in the life of a believer, or days of the year that have special religious significance. Human beings often tend to God only when they are in trouble or in need of help, but this should not be the attitude. God is our protector, as he brought us in this world the same way he will take care and assist us as we take each step as days go on. We should always prayer and keep him in mind and understand that it's only because of him that we are alive. And the only way that we can thank God is through prayer. God does not want us to spend the entire day meditating on his word but wants to alteast spend 1/4th of our time in his presence so as to understand his needs and to go according to his holy will. We should pray to God for his will to be done not for him to go according to our will!
Life is short and we need to be careful at every step we take. And the only way to protect ourselves from the evil that is waiting to grab and take over us every moment is to pray!

How can we know whether God wants us to pray for Him? How can we make sure He is satisfied with what we give Him? I think prayer is only a demonstration that we do not forget Him. However, it cannot be generalized to the extent that He needs our prayer since God is not like us and none of us is like Him. He does have his own world. That's why we cannot fully perceive what God is, where He lives, what He does, and whether he continuously creates something or stops at a point and watches the universe.

Our perception of God could only be via spiritual methods, so we had better stop thinking He really needs to see us pray for Him. If He is really satisfied with this, then our relationship with this magical entity must be much closer than we know today. We must have a method to directly communicate with Him, which seems to be rather irrational for today's religious thought.

Finally, I would like to note that major religions all have perception of God in them, but they always fail to explain the distance between us and the God(s). Prayer is thought to be a way to construct a relationship with the God, but I have to say the way this analysis is put is just a reason why there are lots of unbelievers on the world.

Prayer : Ask, Believe and Recieve

It requires faith to manifest, which is the Believing Part.

"Faith is being sure of what we hoped for and certain of what we do not see."
- Hebrews 11:1
