Congratulations on this transition... the vegan diet done correctly is one of the healthiest diets on the planet! One of the features we will add for the new year is a Veggie Center where will have tips, recipes etc. for veggie living.

I recommend that you limit all highly processed foods and include a wide variety of healthy foods such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, raw nuts, legumes, beans, fermented foods, sprouts, and at least 2 servings of calcium-containing foods such as calcium-fortified rice/soy milk. It is extremely important to consume several different vegetables and fruits a day. A great way to incorporate variety is to pick vegetables and fruits of different colors each day-green, red, orange, etc.

I would also consider taking 3 tabelspoons of nutritional yeast each day to ensure a healthy level of b-12

I just made the transition from vegetarian to vegan, too. It's been a week so far, and I love it. I feel healthier.

Good for you! I am coming up on my second year and am so happy that I made the choice to go vegan. Please read my blog about going vegetarian/vegan. I am here for any help you need, feel free to send my any questions, even if you are just looking for a good product. Like I said in my blog, it is a lot of trial and error in the beginning, but I think it's fun, like a treasure hunt. When you find a new product that you LOVE, you will feel like you found a treasure and will want to tell everyone about it so they can try it, too! You'll see what I mean when it happens to you. Again, do not hesitate to let me know in what way I can help you! :)

I too am a new vegan, and it feels amazing and tough at the same time. My family eats meat and they make fun of me for eating tofu, plus, I have to vegan friends. So, it's refreshing to meet other vegans and I hope you keep feeling as good as you do now :)

You do not need to feel sorry about your decision, which you have decided by yourself. However, I would like to examine the reasons why a person converts or intends to convert to a vegan in a small amount of time! I think a person's role in the society is partially determined by his/her eating habits as well as the person's relationships with friends in the surrounding. Then, it comes inevitable to escape from the flow that a person must have the same eating habits as his/her friends and such conversions could become much easier. However, I cannot say the person recently converted to a vegan is enjoying the first few months of his/her new lifestyle. S/he takes it serious to be sincere, but also considers going back to the old habit of eating meat. At this point, I wonder what situations forced you to make such a decision and whether or not you have seen remarkable differences in your health. I wish you a much healthier life from now on
