I sing (to myself). I crochet, read, watch television and work on my computer.

I rent movies from BlockBuster. I like all genera from comedy to documentary. I keep a stream coming in the mail and in between movies, I read and watch television.

I like all types of music. Classical, R&B, Pop, Reggae, Rock, Christian, Polka, Jazz, and Waltz. I just like music.

I like to read. I like detective stories, science fiction, mysteries, self help books, autobiographies, to name a few.

I like to wake and hear the birds singing. I like to see the sun rise or see the moon rise. I like to see beautiful white clouds or big dark clouds floating across the sky. I like green grass and blue skies. I like to see a brilliant sunset, which, by the way is very beautiful in North Carolina; and so are sunrises. It's just harder to see them because of the tree lines. I like rainy days as much as I like sunny days; they are just as beautiful in their own way as a sunny day; and there's nothing more lovely as big, fat, flaky snowflakes falling, provided they don't choke the roads and towns. I guess it's the simple things I like: wildlife, natural forests, wetlands, all things God gives for us to protect and enjoy.

I dislike dishonesty, and people who hurt people, animals, wildlife and their habitats. Rudeness, crudeness, and disrespect of any kind.

I worked many years, and it seems funny to be retired now and still feel like doing something. I have some health issues, and I am caregiver to my 91 year old father and my 68 year old sister. My father had kidney cancer a little over 5 years ago, but he has been cancer free now for those 5 years and counting. My sister had breast cancer a little over 2 years ago and is still fighting it. It gets hectic for me going to doctor's appointments and running errands, but I'm glad I can do these things for my family. Some days I go to bed at 5 p.m. because I just don't have the energy to stay up. I'm looking forward to things getting easier as I go along. God is always with me to help and guide me so that gives me courage and hope for the future.
