Urgent Action Step 1: Stop the FDA

Their "Evidence-Based Review System for the Scientific Evaluation of Health Claims", Docket 2007D-0125, http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/hclmgui5.html is a violation of your rights under the First Amendment and under DSHEA, the 1994 Dietary Supplements Health and Education Act which says that supplements are foods and that consumers can have access to information about their benefits! Act now to make sure the FDA does not take away your right to make informed choices for natural health options.
Faxes are an expensive way to communicate since every fax costs us much more than an email to send through our communication system, DemocracyinAction.org. However, we are using the fax option since the FDA

The Health Freedom Protection Act, introduced by Ron Paul on May 2, 2007 specifically protects your right to science-based information about your health and the supplements and foods that support it.
Back to the Future/Forward to the Past
The FDA has been trying to restrict your access to this information for decades. In fact, before DSHEA was passed in 1994, it was illegal to use "food" and "health" in the same sentence! That's precisely where the Pharma-driven FDA wants to take us: back to a future where your right to know what you need to about health and food is gone despite the First Amendment.
NUTRICIDE NOW?
Remember the two definitions of Nutricide in my lecture (which you can see on our website, www.HealthFreedomUSA.org)?
Definition Number 1 is "the death of the body of knowledge about the relationship of food and health". (Number 2, of course, is "the death of large populations through the manipulation of the food supply.") Well, in line with the absurd and dangerous prohibition on letting people know about the impact and benefits of foods on health which the US pushed through Codex (by calling it "advertising" to share this information), the FDA is now bringing that same mad and dangerous gag rule home to the US.
It is really interesting to note that the US delegate to the Codex Committee on Food Labeling where this preposterous, and very dangerous, limitation on speech and information was adopted is none other than the FDA's director of the Office of Dietary Supplements, Dr. Barbara Schneeman.
Dietary supplements and clean, wholesome foods are Big Pharma's worst nightmare: cheap, low-tech, easy to use, effective tools that consumers can use to stay healthy and make sure that they are bad customers for Big Pharma and the rest of the illness care industry. That's why the ever-drug-friendly FDA is doing its level best to make sure that we have no idea how good they can be for us while they bombard us with deceptive, but brilliant, mass advertising to convince us that everything that happens to us in life needs to be fixed with - you guessed it - a dangerous, expensive drug! If you expected the head of the Office of Dietary Supplements to protect them, you'll be shocked to know that the same person represents the US at Codex at several committees and working groups. She faithfully represents the US position of consistent and continual degradation of the US food supply and the attack on nutritional adequacy and information.
Once that's done out there in Codex land, the FDA issues guidances and regulations to bring its latest assault on health and freedom home to the US despite our laws and the will of the people. Or at least that's the way things have been working.
We're changing all that. Take the action steps in this email to shift the balance of power from Big Pharma and friends to you and me!

Good News Item Number 3
A powerful documentary is an incredibly important tool in spreading information. "Sweet Misery" and "Sweet Remedy" by Sound and Fury Productions, Inc. are great examples of the power of the documentary. Telling the story of Aspartame, its political and pharmaceutical background and its deadly impact on people who consume it, these two documentaries changed the debate on this astonishingly dangerous food additive in just a few years.
The Natural Solutions Foundation was in Tucson AZ on July 19 to give a lecture about Codex. Sound and Fury Productions was there, too and decided to make a Codex documentary using their extraordinary skills and powerful techniques! We have been meeting with Cori Brackett, one of the principals of Sound and Fury over the last several days to work on the development of this film.
A professional film like this will take some time, of course, but what a gift health freedom is getting!
But wait! There's another film dealing with Codex being made, too! Candice T. Aguirre is making "The Future of Medicine" in which she will be examining the low tech, high impact treatments of the future (many of which, of course, have been brought down to us through their long and successful past). Codex, as a direct threat to the basis of health, clean food and high potency nutrients, is a topic for this film, too. We'll let you know when this movie is out, too!
