IF LOVE IS THE ANSWER WHAT’S THE QUESTION?
Is it “I Love You because I Need You” or “I Need You because I Love You”? Sarah Brightman concluded her Harem world tour concert with the song entitled : Question of Honour which I believe is the best descriptionthat I can attach to the case in point. The chorus says:
If you win or you lose
It’s a question of honour
And the way that you choose
It’s a question of honor
I can’t tell what’s wrong or right
If black is white or day is night
But I know when two men collide
It’s a question of honour…
So what honour are you giving yourself when youare asked the following questions?
Are you a giver or a taker?
Are you the victim or the victimizer? What role are you playing?
If people say you are a good person, what do they really mean by that? Are you a good person because you are generous? What happens when you stop being generous? Are you still a good person?
If your financial bank account is rich, is your Emotional Bank Account (EBA) rich as well? Are you the depositor or are you the withdrawer? What character do you play in your interpersonal and intrapersonal transactions?
Rick Warren in his book The Purpose Driven Lifestates that the way you think determines how you feel and the way you feel influences the way you act. He mentioned that changes happen only when you change your autopilot because every behavior is motivated by a belief and every action is prompted by an attitude.
Character building is a slow process. The Purpose Driven life perfectly states that we all need to be patient and persistent. Whenever we try to avoid or escape the difficulties in life, we short-circuit the process, delay our growth and actually end up with a worse kind of pain – the worthless type that accompanies denial and avoidance.
Being mature means lesser “comfort me” prayers but more “conform me” prayers. When we let go of our desirous attachments, that’s the only time we can say we are truly happy, contented and at peace and start attracting the things that we truly want in life.
Yanni, in his latest concert at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas mentioned that he doesn’t create music to cater to the needs of the audience but he creates music according to how it wants to be created from his heart, be sensitive to it and allow it according to what it wants to be and it will find its audience. That’s the kind of music that will never fade away.
So what choices do you have for the answers? The way you make choices is up to you. We all want to feel loved, we all want to belong, we are all needy that’s why we need other people to fulfill that need. But do we really need other people?
But if we need can we also give? And when you give, what’s your motive? Is it to fulfill a need? What kind of need? When you give…can you give selflessly or are you giving for selfish intentions? Can you give to other people what you don’t have?
What we really need is something intangible. Something that cannot be measured by money. We all need ourselves.
We need to look inwards. We need to nurture the inner self, the higher self, the conscious, sub-conscious and the supra-conscious so that we can transform ourselves into a loving human being. When that happens, we cannot ask for more but give more and the more we give the more we become abundant.
So can you still say “ I Love You because I Need You or is it “I Need You Because I Love You”? What honour do you give yourself?
The choice is yours. I already have given myself the honour…and you are the first to be blessed by it.
Namaste.
Hi Friends,
This was emailed to me by my friend and it's a wonderful story...I'd like to share it.
THE DONKEY
One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well.
The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway;
it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him.
They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.
At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.
Then, to everyone's amazement
he quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well.
He was astonished at what he saw.
With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.
As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal,
he would shake it off and take a step up.
Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up
over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!
MORAL :
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt.
The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up.
Each of our troubles is a steppingstone.
We can get out
of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up!
Shake it off and take a step up.
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.
2. Free your mind from worries - Most never happens.
3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less from people but more from God.
