About Life Coaching Training:
There is no undisputed King of life coach training and certification, and trying to pick a school or route of training can be very confusing. Some Life Coach experts recommend to find a school whose training motivates and inspires you, training platform (classroom, face-to-face, audio, video, telephone training, reading, etc) best fits how you learn, by your niche preference (Life/Personal Coaching, Business Coaching, or Corporate Coaching), and by location. Here is a brief explanation of certification and training programs:
The International Coach Federation is an independent organization that accredits Life Coach Schools. They do not do life coach training, nor are they affiliated with any Life Coach Schools. Their training is considered by some to be the gold standard of coach training certification. You can set you heart on the ICF accreditation, choose a school whose training motivates you, and end up with a school and ICF accreditation in the end, but be aware that you need at least 250 paid coaching hours , 60 training coach-specific training hours prior to sitting for ICF accredited school exams. Takes 6-12 months to reach the first level of ICF certification. So, unless you already have this, you may want to consider the Coachville School of Coaching or some other certification program.
Coachville School of Coaching schools are not ICF accredited, and rely on streaming audio over the internet. There is no live interaction with trainers on the phone or in person. Ironically, the Coachville School of Coaching was created by the same person who created the International Coach Federation. When you graduate from a Coachville school you have a CV and an IAC accreditation.
