    In buying ingredients for your low-fat recipes, it is also wise to know how to read the numbers in the labels. Usually, percentage of calories from fat is not shown in the labels so you have to do the math yourself. What you have to do is divide the fat calories per serving by the total calories per serving. Then, you have to multiply the number you get by 100 and you get the percentage of calories from fat. A low-fat food has a maximum of 20% of calories from fat per serving.
