Weight Loss Tips and Information
"It's not your fault that you can't lose weight," say those
annoying ads on TV. Evil fat-producing chemicals in your body have
somehow staged a revolution and taken over from the noble fat-reducing acids
and enzymes. Maybe that pizza didn't help, but you're a good person --
you deserve to lose weight, even while you're sitting on the couch.
Just put those good chemicals back in. There's a germ of truth in those
ads, because some supplements have been found to activate the
fat-burning metabolism of the body. But the rest is wishful thinking; because we
still need exercise and lots of it to burn enough fat to result in
sustained weight loss.
While weight loss gurus are in a competition to flood us with weight loss information, the
arithmetic of a diet has always looked simple: work off more calories than
you eat. Unfortunately it takes 20 to 25 minutes of cardio-vascular
exercise just to burn off the glycogen in the muscles, which has to happen
before fat cells are utilized for energy. This means that many
exercisers are quitting their workout just when the biggest gains start to
kick in. They aren't getting the full weight-loss benefit of the exercise.
You should know that there aren't substantially more weight loss tips to know
today than in the recent past. For years researchers have known that
Pyruvate, Carnitine, Co-enzyme Q10, and other natural supplements do
help the metabolism burn fat cells faster, but this has mainly been used
as a marketing ploy in low dosage pills hawked on TV. This passive
approach is next to worthless, but taking these supplements in healthy
dosages prior to exercise has been shown to get fat cells burning faster
than exercise alone.
So now we have a new paradigm for the use of these important acids and
enzymes -- as an active part of an exercise program. It's important to
drink plenty of fluids, stay hydrated, and do endurance and cardio
exercises in your known range of activity. If you want fat cells to burn
faster, don't forget the Pyruvate, Carnitine, and other supplements that
enhance metabolism.
